Planty Kitsch

Most of my readers probably already know I am an avid thrifter with a love for anything vintage. A few months ago I posted a photo of the sweetest retro deer planter and these are a few of my latest thrifted finds:

My last trip yielded a funky 70's owl vase, 3 glass jars that would make a lovely tiny terrarium collection, a ceramic apple souvenir and this awesome daschund dog planter. I know my mom (and probably some of my readers!) might call the owl and dog "tacky"...but I prefer "kitsch." :)

I too love anything vintage and the tackier the better......or should I say kitsch?!?! I have quite a collection of vintage owls so I'm especially loving the owl. Great finds!

I love owls too! I'm starting a collection of tiny ones (so it takes up less room in my apartment.) Check out this crafter's house -Might be a bit too much for me, but I respect that dedication to collecting!

The tacky dog ceramic lives in my house too! It was one of my mom's collection of "stuff". At one time, it sat on her dressing table and she put her rings on the tail when she took them off. What a good chuckle I got out of your post! I'd love to invite you over to have a look at the inherited collection of kitchy ceramics that I often wonder just what to do with . . . especially when I am looking for more storage space.

I definitely would've sprung for the owl too. A collection of owls has started to happen in my house. It is a mysterious thing. I am not a collector. Maybe I'm craving a little wisdom? The dachshund planter is kind of irresistable too.
